Janne grew up on a farm. Her parents were share-milkers for a while so Janne’s earliest musical influences were listening to what her parents heard on the radio and on records. “They were both fabulous ballroom dancers so that’s where the rhythm came in I guess”. Janne still loves to shake it on the dance floor and can rattle a mean tambourine.

Janne loved music from an early age and got her first guitar when in primary school. Janne remembers cycling to school with the guitar slung across her back. Janne still has that very guitar, with the hummingbird scratch plate.

In high school Janne was a foundation member of the school’s Show Band as was good friend Glenn Carley, they had some fun times playing for school productions. The school had them doing odd jobs to raise money for a canteen to be built and because Janne raised the most money in the school they gave her an amplifier to go with her electric guitar. Janne went along to a local country music club for a while but didn’t like to be limited to just one musical genre.

Frankencopter are a 4 piece Rock band that explode on stage with Blues Brass and Balls! Inspired by the super rock and pop sounds of the seventies, they are a melding of AC/DC and Led Zeppelin performed by the love child of David Bowie and Tom Petty! Our songs vary in tempo and character, some are a mix of funk, jazz and blues, others clearly Rock that grinds close to Heavy Metal. A unique sound with plenty of bluesy Sax and formidable Guitars, all backed up by the tightest Bass and Drum sound this side of the Mississippi!

NZ singer/songwriter Nate Kruse writes and performs pop rock and acoustic music as a soloist. Born in 2001 and coming from a town in rural South Auckland, Nate has wanted to pursue his music career ever since he was 9 after performing his first cover in his primary school talent quest. From then on his inspiration for writing music has always been his main priority.

Finding his own style of music that is different from the other artists but a style that could catch attention from different types of people has been his main focus. Nate has released his first single “Move Over” on Local Musicians Music Vol 4 and since this song has gone onto secure over 100,000 Spotify streams with his single “Reasons”

Fantastic turnout on Thursday. Thanks to everyone that performed lets do it again next year :).

A word from our sponsor and founder of Local Musicians Music and The LMM Network. Throughout 2019 I will be touring solo and with my drummer Mike Hartley. Please join me in welcoming Mike to our network he brings experience as a theatre performer, drummer and bassist with a talent for songwriting, guitar and vocals. Mike will be working exclusively with me playing drums for our acoustic duo and with the assistance of Chris Barclay on lead guitar we will make up my professional trio for mostly corporate work and weddings, festivals and events that require a band. Mike’s grandfather was a drummer for the New Zealand Symphony orchestra so has been taught by one of our best. Local Musicians Music was originally set up to produce and collate compilation albums for submission to radio and eventually publishing to TV and Movies etc. The combined 5 albums have some real gems amongst the submissions, the most professionally produced of which will make it to Volume 5 to be released in Australia, New Zealand and a few European countries to start with. I’m very excited about presenting not just my own album but our joint efforts over the past 5 years to a larger audience other than what the internet provides. There is still a face to face benefit to promoting music and after meeting experts around the world at the Global Summit held last year at Roundhead studios I was compelled to book my flights and tour with as much music packed away in my suitcase as much as my clothes and stuff will allow. So on that note I bid you all a fabulous 2019, see you at one of my gigs playing under my brand name LA Thompson and lets meet up on the 30th September in Tahawai for an open home and music event to celebrate the beginning of summer. Lax
